    The First Ever Live 4D Show Comes To South Florida

     

     

    What is a live 4D show like? Mark Nizer 4D is here to show us. For most of us, 4D is taking sprinkles of water to the face at a ride in Disney World. So, a live show with 4D? Is that like a live performer that talks so close to you that their spit comes flying onto your face? Thankfully, it’s not. “Using special glasses we convert light into depth which adds a 4th dimension to our normal 3D world,” says a teaser video for the first, and only, live 4D show in the world. Mark has brought his act to the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Kennedy Center, and he’s even opened up for Barry Manilow.

    Now on stage at Palmer Trinity, ‘You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown’

The award winning Palmer Trinity School Theatre Department presents the fun-filled family musical, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Thursday, Friday, and twice on Saturday at the Palmetto Bay school campus at 8001 SW 184 Street. Based on the beloved comic strip and characters created by Charles Schulz, join Charlie, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy and the rest of the Peanuts gang as they travel through colorful vignettes about security blankets, kite flying, sports and love infatuations – all the while searching for acceptance and finding friendship. Whether you’re keen to fly with the Red Baron, play a Beethoven sonata, or hit a home run, this happy family musical is filled with fun and laughs.

    Gulliver to Host Annual Special Olympics Sponsor an Athlete 5k

     

     

    In partnership with Special Olympics Florida, Gulliver is set to host the annual Special Olympics Sponsor an Athlete 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, April 15, 2018. This charitable event is open to the public and will feature a certified 5K run/walk course, family activities and entertainment. Funds raised will support the 40 athletes from Miami-Dade County who will be representing Team Florida at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle in July. The race starting line is set for Gulliver Preparatory School, and the finish line at the school’s Sean Taylor Memorial Field, where participants will be greeted by Special Olympics cheerleaders. They will also get the chance to wind down at the event’s “Olympic Village.”

    ACES students shine at Cadena Social Entrepreneurship Initiative

     

     

    ACES recently participated in the Cadena Social Entrepreneurship Initiative Contest, which is a way for students to showcase innovative ideas that focused on strategies for emergency aid to vulnerable communities worldwide. Of the 87 projects submitted to the Cadena group this year, only 11 were selected to compete. Of those selected, three were ACES students and one of those projects was the overall 3rd place winner. The Cadena Initiative is a humanitarian non-profit organization committed to providing aid, hand in hand, to people affected by natural disasters around the world. The foundation develops long-lasting, cost-efficient solutions that enhance the quality of living for vulnerable communities around the world.

    Some of life’s greatest food inventions happened by mistake, which explains baker Andy Herrera’s croqueta cake. The idea came from a party Herrera went to. Hungry, he snatched up the last few remaining ham croquetas, which were smeared with merengue from a nearby cake. “I tried it and it was actually pretty good!” The flavor profile of sweet and savory stayed with him, and, in the privacy of his bakery, he started tinkering with a new creation that was the ultimate Cuban food combination. A customer spotted him making it in the kitchen and shouted, “oh my God, I need that in my life!”
