    Fort Lauderdale’s Icon Las Olas Unveils New Renderings


    Icon Las Olas is looking to shake up downtown Fort Lauderdale’s rental scene when the luxury building finally opens its doors this fall.


    Not only is it Fort Lauderdale’s tallest building when it topped off at 455 feet last January but it’s also going to be among the most expensive apartment buildings in all of South Florida with rents ranging from $2,500 to $7,000 a month.

    Fresco y Más Supermarket Opens in Hollywood


    Southeastern Grocers opened its first Fresco y Más supermarket in Broward County at the location of a former Winn-Dixie supermarket in Hollywood. The Hispanic-centric supermarket chain’s first location in Broward County had been occupied by a Winn-Dixie store.


    Ian McLeod, CEO of Southeastern Grocers, told the Sun-Sentinel that the company decided to expand the Fresco y Más chain in Broward after its successful entry into Miami-Dade County, where the chain caters to Hispanic customers at 16 locations.




    Amazon To Buy Whole Foods in $13.7B Deal


    Amazon, an online retail giant, offers grocery deliveries and buying Whole Foods could open up new ways to reach customers and expand its market share. The e-commerce company signed a deal to open a third distribution center in Miami-Dade County last week, an 800,000-square-foot warehouse at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport.


    Whole Foods has stores in Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Miami Beach, North Miami, downtown Miami, Pembroke Pines, Fort Lauderdale, Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, Aventura, Pompano Beach, Davie, West Palm Beach, Coral Springs and Boca Raton.




    Miami-Dade Animal Services Anniversary of Pet Adoption and Protection Center


    On Tuesday, June 13, 2017 the new Miami-Dade County Animal Services Pet Adoption and Protection Center celebrates the first-year anniversary of its move to the new building located at 3599 NW 79 Avenue in Doral, FL 33122.


    To mark the one-year anniversary, Animal Services will offer one dollar ($1) adoptions for all pets, including puppies! The $1 adoption fee includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies and booster vaccinations if age appropriate, deworming and microchip. Exceptions to note: to comply with Florida law, a $27 license must be purchased for all dogs adopted.
