    Coral Gables Community Foundation opens Hurricane Irma Recovery Fund



    The Coral Gables Community Foundation has established the Hurricane Irma Recovery Fund to benefit fellow Floridians impacted across the state. “We wish everyone strength and safety as our city readjusts after Hurricane Irma and our thoughts are with our friends across the state who received the full impact of the storm,” said Mary Snow, executive director of the Coral Gables Community Foundation. Proceeds will benefit Floridians served by the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, the Community Foundation of Collier County, the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida and the Tampa Bay Community Foundation.





    Boys & Girls Clubs host annual alumni reunion at Marlins Park



    Six former club members were inducted to the clubs’ Alumni Hall of Fame and honored with an afternoon of food, refreshments and celebrations, including a special announcement from Home Plate with video projection of each of the inductees. Immediately following the presentation, inductees and their guest were able to enjoy seats in a special section and watch the Marlins vs. Padres game courtesy of the Marlins Foundation.




    American Classic OUR TOWN Is Reimagined by Miami New Drama at Colony Theatre



    Miami New Drama (MiND) at Colony Theatre opens the season with a ground-breaking production of the classic drama, Our Town. MiND’s Artistic Director, Michel Hausmann, has re-envisioned Thornton Wilder’s iconic tale of life, love and death in small town America for 21st century Miami, incorporating translations in Spanish by Pulitzer Prize-winner, Nilo Cruz, and in Creole by renowned playwright, Jeff Augustin. This production marks the first time that the Thornton Wilder Estate has allowed the text of this Pulitzer Prize winning drama to be altered. Our Town premieres Thursday, October 26, and runs through Sunday, November 19, at the Colony Theatre (1040 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach).
